EmilyS replied on March 12, 2010 14:49 to the question "top 50 artists importing via last.fm sometimes spells them wrong" in Songkick:
Hey there,
Yes, this is more of an isolated issue whereby we had two entries for the band: "Korn" and "KoЯn".
Because Last.fm have it listed with the backwards R, and we had an existing listing with it spelt that way, it matched it with that instead of our main Korn page (http://www.songkick.com/artists/20297....
I'm not sure there's anything we can do about that right now as it's a case of their data not exactly matching ours - but in 99% of other cases it usually matches fine!
Thanks for flagging it up though, and make sure you track the other Korn one now :)
Let me know if you have any questions.

EmilyS replied on March 12, 2010 14:28 to the question "Songkick application for Mac not working" in Songkick:
m - sorry but there's not a way around this right now - apologies for that, we'll see if it's affecting many other users before we decide whether to make it compatible with powerpc.
You can add artists to your Tracker manually though:

Or, if you use Last.fm you can do an import of your top50 listened to artists from there? That's on your Tracker, on the right-hand side.
Let me know if you have any other questions at all.

EmilyS replied on March 12, 2010 14:26 to the question "Problems running the Songkicker on mac 10.6.2" in Songkick:
Hey Ferdi,
Really sorry but we can't reproduce this problem! Unfortunately, this means we're not able to fix it right now as we don't have the bandwidth to spend any more time on it at the moment.
I know that sucks, but we'll keep an eye out and see if many other users are affected by it, and if a large amount are then we'll spend some more time on it. For now though, I'm afraid you'll have to add artists to you Tracker manually:

Or, if you use Last.fm you can do an import of your top50 listened to artists from there? That's on your Tracker, on the right-hand side.

EmilyS replied on March 12, 2010 10:24 to the idea "Is there a plan to write an Android application?" in Songkick:
Hey Scott,
Mobile apps are definitely something we're thinking about! There's no immediate plans for an Android app right now though, so why not send over your idea through our API request form:
http://www.songkick.com/developer/app...
Thanks,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on March 12, 2010 09:47 to the question "Ability to edit gig details such as playing times, vendors, etc all at once?" in Songkick:
Hey,
Sorry but not right now no! We didn't add it to the form because we didn't want to overwhelm people with all those options, and wanted to make sure we got the core info from people (artist, venue, date) as swiftly as possible. Although it's great to have the extra info about set times and ticket links, it's kind of supplementary to the main details. And in some cases, these details aren't available straight away.
If it poses a big problem for enough people then we may rethink it in the future though!
Thanks,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on March 12, 2010 09:35 to the question "Song Kick decided that I live somewhere wierd..." in Songkick:
Hey Jules,
Thanks for flagging up that you found it hard to find how to change it - we'll take that feedback on board.
When you sign up via Facebook we automatically set your location by your IP address, it sounds like it might have been picking up the address of your provider rather than where you're actually located. That sometimes happens. If you let me know your IP address we can check for you? You should be able to find it under your network settings. Is Oxford what you would have expected it to be?
Emily.
EmilyS replied on March 11, 2010 11:04 to the question "Stuck with firstname-lastname?" in Songkick:
Hey there,
You created your account when you signed-up via Facebook Connect - when you sign up using this, we automatically set your username as "firstname-lastname". Unfortunately, there's not a way to change your username on Songkick right now, but that is something that we're thinking about implementing in the future.
For now though, the only option would be to delete you account (under Account Settings) and start over with a new Songkick account (not signing up via Facebook). That way you can pick whatever you want your username to be.
Sorry about that - we're aware that this isn't the best user experience so hopefully we'll be able to figure out a solution for this soon!
Let me know if you have any other questions at all :)
Thanks,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on March 11, 2010 10:14 to the question "Facebook Link issue?" in Songkick:
Hey there,
The real Songkick Facebook fan page is here:
http://www.facebook.com/Songkick
It's classed under 'Pages'? Sounds like you might have stumbled across the old 'Group' one which we no longer use.
We'll look into whether there's anything we can do about that link your referring to going to the other Songkick application page!
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on March 11, 2010 09:41 to the question "Didn't receive email notification for upcoming concerts" in Songkick:
Hey Stevie,
Happy to hear you're liking the site :)
It looks like the reason you didn't receive an email about Snow Patrol and John Mayer is because you're not tracking the Amsterdam metro area where those shows are taking place!

You can start tracking Amsterdam by going to the metro area tab on your Tracker and searching for it on the right hand side.
Let me know if you have any other questions about tracking and email notifications.
Thanks,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on March 10, 2010 19:20 to the problem "Big Chill Tickets not legitimate say festival organisers" in Songkick:
Hey Jules,
Thanks for flagging this up, I've removed that link for the time being.
http://www.songkick.com/festivals/123...
We don't want to mislead our users in anyway and to this end, there's an ongoing debate about resellers like Viagogo being listed on Songkick so we'll definitely factor this into the discussion.
Let me know if you have any questions at all.

EmilyS replied on March 10, 2010 19:03 to the question "No Big daddy kane" in Songkick:
Hey there,
Sorry, just want to check I've understood your question correctly, are you saying that Big Daddy Kane didn't appear at Fresh Fest as scheduled?
If so, I'm afraid that's out of our hands! We just aggregate concerts and provide links for you to buy tickets - we're not in anyway involved with organising the events. Once you click through to buy a ticket you're no longer on Songkick so any questions about the line-up etc should be directed at the ticket vendor from whom you purchased the ticket or the concert organiser!
Let me know if your question was related to something else :)
Emily.
EmilyS replied on March 10, 2010 18:41 to the problem "Asking my computer to dl a file when I hit the back buton on my browser" in Songkick:
Hey Lofm,
Sorry but I'm not able to reproduce this problem! Can I ask a couple of questions:
1) had you click on the 'Anywhere' just after downloading the Songkicker application?
2) if you don't think this is related to the Songkicker application, could you let me know what the file said it was for? Maybe post a screenshot if you're still able to reproduce the issue?
If you could let me know whether you're still experiencing the problem that'd be fab.
Thanks,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on March 10, 2010 18:26 to the question "How do I marry my original account with my new facebook enabled one?" in Songkick:
Hey there,
Apologies for not getting back to you sooner.
The way it works is dependent on which email address you use for Facebook and Songkick. If your Facebook email is different to your Songkick one, then logging in via Facebook will create you a new Songkick account which is probably what happened here?
We are aware this isn't a great experience and could be quite confusing for some people, so we hope to be able to address this in the future!
In the meantime, you should be able to get around this by doing the following (but bear in mind that this will require you using the same email address for both your Songkick and Facebook account):
1) Log into Facebook, go to Account (top right) > Application Settings > click on the 'x' next to the Songkick application and say yes when it asks if you want to remove it. DO NOT LOG OUT OF FACEBOOK YET (this is important!!)
2) Open a new tab and log into the accidental second Songkick account you created via Facebook, and go to Account Settings (top right) > Delete account (on the right-hand side).

3) Now, you can go back to Facebook and log out.
4) The next step is to go to your old/initial Songkick account (logging in via the traditional Songkick route) and change the email address you have in there (again under Account Settings) to match the one you use to sign in to Facebook.
5) Log out of Songkick and then log back in via Facebook Connect. You should now find that the two accounts are synced (providing you've made sure it's the same email associated with both)!
Sorry that's so convoluted, let me know if you need any more help at all :)
Thanks,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on March 10, 2010 16:30 to the idea "Wanted: invite/sharing function" in Songkick:
Oh no, sorry I should have explained better what I meant by 'support'! That's for if you want to search your contacts to see who's already on Songkick - so we can scan through everyone in your Yahoo, Hotmail or Gmail (when it's working) address book and let you know who already has a Songkick account and then give you the option to email an invite to all the others who don't!
On www.songkick.com/contacts/new you can invite your friends using the Invite your Friends option:

This works with any email address!!
Does that makes sense? Sorry for the confusion!
EmilyS replied on March 10, 2010 16:02 to the idea "Viagogo and other reseller links should be removed" in Songkick:
Hey Okstevep,
I can see you've already posted your thoughts on this in the other thread about resellers so I won't repeat everything that's said in there! But just want to reiterate that it is something we're taking seriously and will be reviewing soon.
We're in the middle of a really busy period right now, but rest assured this is something that's concerning us, so we will figure out a way to address it as soon as we can.
Thanks for bearing with us and for sharing your thoughts, we appreciate your opinion.
Emily.
EmilyS replied on March 10, 2010 15:44 to the idea "Wanted: invite/sharing function" in Songkick:
Hey Agnese,
We do actually have this feature but we had to temporarily hide it from view as it was broken!
It's back now though:
www.songkick.com/contacts/new
...this page is also reachable through your profile, dashboard, tracker and on the 'people' tab on the search.
You'll see right now we support Hotmail and Yahoo for this, we usually also support Gmail but are still experiencing problems with this, so unfortunately that's not available right now. We're working on fixing it though, so hopefully that'll be back soon.
Thanks for bearing with us :)
Let me know if you have any other questions or problems.
Emily.

Hey guys,
Keeping this idea in mind, but don't forget you can always share the concert URL with your friends:
e.g. copy and paste this - http://www.songkick.com/concerts/4467...
